Chapter 165 Safe Harbor
John ran a hand through his hair, the weight of their situation pressing down on him. "We have to try something," he said, his voice filled with determination. "Marie and Sarah are counting on us."
Olivia squeezed his hand in silent agreement. Fear gnawed at them, but the thought of leaving their friends behind was unthinkable.
Dr. Sharma let out a sigh. "Very well," she said. "Here's what we'll do. I'll need access to the consortium's personnel database."
John and Olivia followed Dr. Sharma's instructions, their fingers flying across the keyboard as they navigated the labyrinthine security protocols. Each click and keystroke felt like a step on a tightrope, the threat of triggering an alarm hanging heavy in the air.
After what felt like an eternity, the database appeared on the screen, a seemingly endless list of names and access levels.
"We need someone with high clearance," Olivia muttered, her eyes scanning the endless rows of data. "Someone who can access the holding cells."
