Chapter 104: Broken Bonds of Allegiance
There was a palpable sense of betrayal throughout the penthouse. With a combination of incredulity and frigid rage, John gazed at Sarah, or rather, the lady who resembled Sarah, with his hand frozen halfway to his revolver. Her emerald green hair glistened in the moonlight streaming through the broken glass, giving her face an unsettling sheen that was bereft of the warmth and devotion John had become used to.
He said, his voice hardly audible above a whisper, "Sarah?"
Marie felt a shudder go down her spine as the lady grinned. While the woman's looks were similar to Sarah's, there was something off-putting about the way her eyes sparkled like they belonged to a poor knockoff.
