Chapter 93
IRENE'S POV
On my way back to the pack, the air suddenly felt deadful. The forest was dark, and the only sound was the crunching of leaves beneath my feet.
I kept my senses sharp, alert for any sign of danger. I wasn’t the same frightened Irene from before. I had trained, I had learned, and I was prepared for anything.
Or so I thought.
Suddenly, I felt a presence behind me. Out of the shadows, Thea emerged, her eyes gleaming with malice.
“Well, well, look who decided to return,” she sneered, stepping into the moonlight. “I didn’t think you’d come back so soon. Or at all, for that matter.”
I narrowed my eyes at her, stopping in my tracks.
“Have you been following me?” I asked more like a query.
Thea let out a sharp, mocking laugh.
“Oh, please. I don’t need to stoop so low to stalk someone like you, Irene. But it’s almost amusing that you walked right into my hands. It’s like fate brought you here for me.”
I clenched my fists, getting ready for whatever.
“What do you want, Thea?”
