Chapter 43
LEON'S POV
When the doorbell rang, I frowned slightly, a sense of unease creeping into my thoughts. Whoever it was, I doubted this would be a pleasant visit.
I walked to the door with my mind racing with possibilities—maybe it was a neighbor, or perhaps one of the pack members. But when I opened the door, I was met with a face I hadn’t expected to see anytime soon—my father, Louis.
I immediately felt my guard go up, my expression turning stony.
"What are you doing here?" I asked bluntly, not bothering to hide the edge in my voice. Our last conversation had ended on a sour note, with heated words exchanged about my relationship with Irene. Since then, I had assumed he would stay out of my business for a while, but here he was, standing on my doorstep as if nothing had happened.
Louis looked at me with that same unreadable expression I’d come to despise.
