My teeth clenched.”I do not care about what you or anything think of me anymore.My days of pleasing you are over.I came here to go over the divorce procedures so let’s go over that right now.” “What’s taking you guys so long?”I heard Celia’s voice as she walked up to us at the hallway and then she exclaimed,dramatically. “What the hell?What happened to you,Phoebe?Why is your hair scattered?What…?” Phoebe sniffed and then let out.”I’m okay,Mrs Godoy.It’s nothing.”She let out,clearly pretending to be meek but Tristan and his mom couldn’t see that. “What do you mean?This isn’t nothing.Who hurt you?”And then she turned to face me.”Did you do this to her?!” I rolled my eyes and looked away. “You little wench!How dare you put your filthy hand on Phoebe?!You really have grown wings!” “Mrs Godoy,I’m sure she didn’t mean to hurt me,please don’t yell at her.”Phoebe let out. I went straight to the point with Tristan. “When are we going to court?Or are you going to have someone deliver this document at the court?You must have your connections.Get it stamped as soon as possible.” He calmly took the papers from my hands. “What do you want as settlement?” “Nothing.”I replied,curtly. He sighed and let out.”This papers were prepared by me a long time ago and so,it’s voided.I’ll have my lawyer draft a new one and then we’ll finalize the divorce.” I didn’t want to argue with him so I said. “Okay.Once you’re ready,let me know so we can get this over with.”With that,I headed out of his house. ************** *TRISTAN* “Voided?”My mother and Phoebe let out at the same time when I told them the conversation Cora and I had just had. Phoebe took the papers from me.”You mean you two are yet to be divorced?” She looked disappointed and I frowned at her. What was it to her? “You could have just used this papers,Tristan.Even if it was long ago,you could’ve used it and gotten rid of that woman.”My mother chipped in. I didn’t have an answer to that but I just knew that I didn’t want to use those papers. “What do you mean she asked for nothing?A gold digger like her couldn’t possibly have wanted nothing from you.”My mom added. “I’ve seen a woman like her before,she was married to my second cousin,she asked for nothing initially when they began their divorce proceedings only to end up getting more than half of his wealth.She only said nothing initially so my cousin would think she was a righteous woman and take her back but when she saw that my cousin was still adamant on getting a divorce,she showed her true colors.”Phoebe explained. I didn’t really know much about her neither did I know this cousin she was talking about. “Women like Cora are the worst.”My mother spat. “It doesn’t matter if she says she wants nothing.I believe that since we are getting divorce,I can’t leave her with nothing.”I replied. “Oh come on,Son.She deserves nothing from you.” “I believe that’s up to me to decide.” I had originally planned to give her one of my Villa as a divorce settlement. It wasn’t because I had feelings for her or anything but I felt it was the right thing to do. “Listen to me,Son.Do not dare think of giving that woman anything.” “I think it’s time you stop meddling.”I shot at her. Plus,she was a very controlling person.She loved having people at the palm of her hands.She stared at Phoebe and smiled. She had always felt that Phoebe was perfect for her son and now that,Cora was out of the picture,she was going to make him see that!
