Chapter 7 Saved by Him

Vivian’s voice was shaking out of guilt, but her friends thought that Madison was ‘bullying’ her again. “What’s wrong with you? Stay away from her. There’s no way she’d take your ring. Who do you think she is?” “That’s right! All of us know that you’re so poor that you have to sell your body for money. You even started to sleep with other professors and counselors at the university. For someone like you, what makes you think that you have something worthy of Viv’s attention?” “Hey, manager, hurry up and kick her out of the restaurant. It really sickens me to see such a loose woman here. Hurry and get her out of here.” Several socialites—apparently Vivian’s friends—came together and defended Vivian. These people used to ingratiate themselves with Madison a year ago. However, after Madison lost her status as one of the Campbells, they all abandoned her. Madison ignored all of their malicious remarks. She looked straight at Vivian and said confidently, “Vivian, I’ll repeat it. Give me back my ring.” “I… I didn’t take your ring. Stop accusing me of the thing that I didn’t do and get away from me, you filthy—” Before Vivian could finish her sentence, Madison slapped her across the face. Vivian looked at Madison in shock and said, “You… How dare you slap me!?” Vivian and her group of friends, as well as the other guests in the restaurant, were also stunned. Madison looked at Vivian and said firmly, “Vivian, give me back my ring. I'll slap you again if I hear another lie coming out of your mouth. You know I'll do it.“ “You… You b*tch…” Vivian finally came to her senses after the shock. She did not dare to mention the ring anymore and threw herself at Madison. “How dare you slap me, you shameless b*tch!? I’m going to make you pay for it!” Vivian lunged at Madison, and both of them fell on the booth. Seeing that her friend was the underdog, Rowena also jumped into the fray. The rest of Vivian’s friends shouted and joined the fight. It was a chaotic scene. “What's going on here?” Suddenly, a young man's low and pleasing voice came from the inner part of the restaurant. “Mr. Carden!” The manager was startled when he saw the man coming out of the VIP room. He left the group of girls alone and went up to Royce. “What’s the matter, Mr. Carden? You could have rang the bell and called us if you needed anything. You didn't have to come out here yourself,” said the manager, his voice filled with anxiety. According to the rumors, the person who was having a meal inside the VIP room was bad-tempered. If something happened and affected his mood when he was having his meal, he would get rid of every single staff member in the restaurant. The manager knew that Royce was the executive assistant of the man inside the VIP room, so when Royce came out to check on the commotion himself, he knew that their fates were sealed. However, Royce did not look displeased at all. He whispered something into the manager’s ear under his breath. While he was talking, he kept darting a few glances at Madison. At that moment, Vivian was pinning Madison under her, and Madison was biting her lips out of pain. When Madison lifted her eyes, she saw a young man standing next to the manager. She saw that he was looking at her with a frown on his face, and her heart skipped a beat as a bad feeling rose in her heart. ‘Could it be that he’s going to kick me out of the restaurant too?’ After a short while, the young man left and the manager ran back. “That’s enough! All of you, stop now! Hey you guys, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and split them!” The manager instructed the waiters to pull them away. It took them some effort to pull them to the side. The left side of Vivian’s face was swollen up, and her hair was disheveled. As for Madison, even though there was no wound on her face, there were bruises here and there on her body caused by Vivian. Seeing that the manager was there, Vivian looked at Madison triumphantly despite her messy hair. “Oh no, will they throw us out of the restaurant?” Rowena approached Madison and clutched nervously at her hand. She also saw the man from the VIP room just now. The VIP rooms of this restaurant were not open to ordinary guests. She believed that the person in the VIP room was someone even she could not afford to offend. Madison pressed her lips thinly without saying anything to Rowena. Instead, she just grabbed her hand tightly with her palm filled with sweat. At that moment, the manager came up to them with a serious expression on his face. “I’m sorry, but you all are not welcome in this restaurant. Get them out of here!” A few waiters stepped forward, and just when all of them thought they were going to kick Madison and Rowena out of the restaurant, they turned around and escorted Vivian and her friends out of the restaurant. “What!? What are you guys doing? I’m Vivian! I’m one of the Petersons! Your manager told you to get Madison out of the restaurant, not me!” “My apologies, Ms. Peterson. Our manager told us that you and your friends are on our restaurant’s blacklist now. Please don't make things hard for us, Ms. Peterson. Now, please come with us.” “No! I don’t believe it! I want to see your manager! I want to talk to him!” Unfortunately, the manager was standing next to Madison with a fretful expression on his face. “Are you alright, Ms. Campbell? You’re not hurt, right? I apologize for our rudeness earlier on. It’s just a misunderstanding, and I hope you’ll forgive us. In the future, you can come to our restaurant even if you’re not a member. Feel free to order anything you would like to eat. All food and drinks will be on the house today.” Madison was stunned as she looked at the manager in disbelief. She thought he was going to kick her out. Could it be that the person in the VIP room was… “On the house? I don’t think that’s necessary. There’s no way we’ll have our meal in a restaurant that looks down on other people!” “I’m truly sorry about that. Ms. Orlando, Ms. Campbell, please follow me to the booth over here to have your meal and give me a chance to make up for my mistakes,” the manager said as he wiped the sweat off his face. He did not dare to talk back to them at all and just smiled at them ingratiatingly. He never expected Madison to have such a bigshot to back her up. She had only had a fight with someone, and the person in the VIP room had sent his subordinate out to help her. The manager insisted they come with him. Madison did not want to argue with anyone anymore, so she grabbed Rowena and sat back down. It was just that she could not get the ring back as the waiters had kicked Vivian and her friends out of the restaurant. - Meanwhile, inside the VIP room of the restaurant… “Mr. Whitlock, it has already been settled,” Royce came back and reported to Allen respectfully. It was Allen who had instructed Royce to help Madison. The expression of the man sitting on the head seat remained the same after he listened to what Royce had said. His eyebrows were slightly knitted as he looked fixedly at the woman sitting at the booth outside. The glasses in the VIP rooms were specially made so that people from the inside could see the things outside, but the people from the outside could not see what was happening inside the rooms. Allen had witnessed the whole thing through the glasses. It was never in his wildest dream that the woman who was so submissive to him actually had the guts to fight with someone in public. Henry came in and said, “Mr. Whitlock, I’ve gone out and asked around. Madison is such a disgrace! Do you know why she had a fight with someone else? It's because of a ring!” His face was filled with mockery and disdain. Henry and Royce were brothers, and they were Alfred’s sons. It was just that compared to Royce, Henry disliked Madison even more. “A ring?” Allen’s face fell. “That’s right. A ring. I don’t know why she would go so far for a ring.” Allen contemplated and fixed his gaze on Madison’s face through the glass. Suddenly, Madison, who was talking to her friend beside her, raised her head and looked toward the private room as if she sensed his gaze. Initially, her face was expressionless, but in the next second, a bright smile appeared on her face as she looked toward the private room. Allen’s facial expression changed again. In the next moment, a gentle and elegant man appeared in the corridor outside the private room. “Ian, over here!” Madison rose to her feet and beamed at the newcomer.
