Dominic reached out, gently tucking Bella's messy bangs behind her ear. "Once she grows up a little, we'll see who she takes after. Neither of us is bad-looking. She won't stay ugly for long."
"You're so full of yourself." Bella handed him back the phone, her eyelids growing heavy with exhaustion.
Dominic didn't respond. He quietly pulled the blanket up to her chest and made sure she was comfortable. He stayed by her side, watching in silence.
