My entire body felt like an inferno. There was nothing that could put it out. Fletcher was inches away from my face, his mouth a hairbreadth away from my own and I couldn’t move. He’d told Charlotte that I was alive. I couldn’t imagine the thoughts pounding in her skull at that very moment. I was sure she was pissed at me. She had to know whom I was with, right?
