Lucas Grisham looked away from the news headline displayed on the TV.

“I'm so sick of hearing nothing but crazy bad news all of the time.” Vera, his manager, spat, decreasing the volume of the TV with the remote. “Give me some good news, did you finally consider accepting that offer to adapt your last book into a movie?”

Vera got off her stool and stepped closer. “Lucas?”
He blinked up at her. “Oh, yeah, I'm still thinking about it.”
“What more is there to think about? Your fans would be delighted! And signing the contract would only make you richer. I mean, this deal is worth hundreds of millions. It will be the highlight of the entire year!”
