Chapter 2 Partner? No Way!

The week went by uneventful and now today is Friday. I woke up and lay in bed, not wanting to go to school. I just wanted to lay in bed all day. But of course I didn't do that, so I groaned and rolled out of bed. I went to the bathroom to shower. I then got dressed, comb my hair and head downstairs. My mother had an early shift at the hospital so she had already left and Dad had left for work as well. When I reached downstairs, I saw Andrew and Jason at the kitchen island eating cereal. "Hey Jay Jay!" I called to my little brother ruffling his hair. He leaned from my touch and swat my hands away. "Lexieee, you're messing up my hair." He whines. I laughed at him as I head to the cabinet to retrieve a bowl. He is so adorable. I got milk from the fridge and the cereal and I poured them both in the bowl. "Oh come on, you know you love me." I said as I sat on one of the stools, eating my cereal. He just shoots me a blank look, fixing his hair back in place. He was acting like he is a grown man. "Someone is asking for the tickle monster." I said as I got up quickly and stand beside him and began to tickle him like crazy. He started to giggle and begged me to stop, but I continued. Andrew chuckled beside us while shaking his head. I have always been tickling him since he was small. "Okay, okay, I love you!" He shouted through his laughter and I stopped tickling him and grinned widely. "I love you too, little bro." I said sitting back down to continue eating my cereal. When I was finished, I washed out my bowl and spoon and put them in the dishwasher. I then head upstairs to brush my teeth and grab my bag. When I came back downstairs, Andrew and Jason were already outside waiting for me. I hurriedly got into the car and we head to school. When I got to school, I saw both Stacy and Sam waiting for me at my locker. They smile when they saw me. "Hi guys." I said giving them both a hug. "Hey girl." Sam said giving me a tight hug smiling. "Lexie, can we go to the mall after school?" Stacy asked excitedly. I gave her a look and groaned. "You know I hate going to the mall, Stace." I whined pouting my lips. "Please Lexie. It's been a while since we went shopping." Stacy protested. Sam nodded her head in agreement beside her obviously excited to go shopping as Stacy. I shoot her a look that says 'thanks for not backing me up'. If you know Stacy well, she is not someone to give up easily. "Please say yes. Please, please, please." She begged putting on her best puppy dog face. "Okay, fine. I will go." I sighed in defeat. They both looked excited and high-fived each other. Seriously what was so exciting about going to the mall anyway? I would never get it. I grabbed my books for first period, waved goodbye to my friends and head to Science class. Science class. I love it. Except now that I am on Josh's radar and I have this class with him, I was dreading it. Life totally sucks! I reached the science wing and went to my class. I occupied a seat in the back and got out my books and binder, just as the teacher walks in. My science teacher, Ms. Winter was a nice lady that always makes her class very interesting and that's why I always look forward for her classes. Ten minutes after class begun, Josh walked in. The teacher crossed her arm and give him a stern look. Josh saluted her and surprisingly, Ms. Winter uncross her arm and nod her head at him to take a seat quickly. She then went back to her lesson. I guess she was tired of him to even say anything anymore. That was another thing that I liked about Ms. Winter. She was one of the nicest teachers in our school and she doesn't give detention for lateness to class unless you are half hour late and she is really pissed off. Every girl in the classroom batted their eyelashes as Josh walked to his seat. Except for me of course. He winked at them as he took his seat. I mentally gagged. Where were these girls' decency? An hour later, Ms. Winter said to us, "You will be given an assignment that is due in two weeks." She announced. The class groaned, "But don't worry, this assignment will be done in pairs. I already chose each pair, so listen up." She ruffled through some papers on her desk until she found the right one. "Tiffany and Luke, Trudy and Dylan, Susan and Layla, Ryan and Eric, Alexandra and Joshua, Francine...." Wait....What? I'll be working with Joshua Taylor?
