Mona had no idea someone had dissed her after she left Thaddeus. She returned to her work and got busy. After the interview with the e-commerce shop, it was almost noon. She took a ride to the hospital. The first thing she wanted to do now that she had gotten the alimony was to ask for a specialist to treat Millie’s condition. Unfortunately, the doctor informed her that Millie’s condition was rather complex. The odds of the operation being successful were only 40%; if it failed, it would endanger the girl’s life. In other words, the operation was a gamble. In the best case scenario, Millie could grow up healthily; in the worst, she would lose the girl forever. However, if she chose not to treat Millie’s condition, the girl would not make it past ten years old. Mona could not make such a heavy decision in a heartbeat. It was too difficult for her. So she decided to delay the consultation and decided to think it over. She walked out of the hospital, dispirited. When she f
