STELLA’s POV
I dragged my feet out of the coffee shop, feeling like I was about to fall on the ground, but I kept pushing forward. I couldn’t stop my sobs.
I saw people around me look at me with worry, some were looking at me with a mock in their eyes.
I kept walking with no destination. My body was trembling as I walked down the pavement, until I felt a hand on my shoulder. I froze because I knew that hand. I turned around to confirm my suspicion and my eyes widened when I saw her. “Aunt Lucy?!”
Even though she was wearing dark shades and a black scarf was covering her head, I could still recognize her.
The woman who made my life a living hell. The woman whom I considered my mother, but she did nothing but hurt me. The woman whom I thought was now rotting in jail because she killed my father was now standing right in front of me.
