His attempt to shift the blame angered Sherry. She placed her hands on her hips, adopting a domineering posture. "So you're blaming me? I wasn't the one who suggested you come here in the dead of night. You deserve to be scared!"
With that, she spun around to leave.
Ryan swiftly moved to block her path, then spoke in a placating tone, "Earlier today, Freya invited you to our New Year's celebration. Why didn't you join us? It's no fun being alone."
