Chapter 2

Yasmine's body was in the sea. The waves kept hitting her, which even choked her. She shouted in a panic, "No, I didn't! Ryan, save me! Please..." "You still don't want to tell the truth, do you? Yasmine, you've hurt me for half of my life. I don't care about anything anymore. Tell me the truth, or I'll let go of you!" Ryan looked stern, staring at Yasmine, who was getting hit by the seawater. He was about to let go of her. Seeing that, she panicked, shouting desperately, "Ryan, don't! I'm your wife! I don't want to die! Yes, you guessed it right! "I'm in love with Horace Jimenez! He urged me to divorce you, saying that he would marry me and make me happy. I-I was wrong! Really! Ryan, I know I was wrong!" A lightning-like shock slammed into Ryan. He froze for a moment, and his mind went blank. It turned out that what he guessed was indeed correct! In the past month, the reason why Yasmine had been causing trouble for him and forcing him to divorce was because she cheated on him! He was so stupid that he had been working hard to make money for this woman, marriage, and so-called love. He had paid unconditionally to the family, including the mortgage, car loan, and her mother's medical treatment fee. No matter how much he paid, she thought it was what he should do. He was so kind to her, but it wasn't worth a few sweet words from another man. Ryan turned fierce, his reddish eyes filled with resentment, and he let go of her hand. Yasmine's body instantly sank into the sea, and the waves kept hitting her face. She looked in pain, stretching out her hands and wailing, asking him to save her. Upon hearing her cry for help, he felt so annoyed. He wanted to let this heartless woman get swallowed by the sea, receiving the punishment she deserved. But he soon grabbed her wrist again and pulled her on top of the iron sheet forcefully. He couldn't ignore her, after all. It wasn't that he didn't dare to leave her be. He just didn't want to ruin his life because of her death. It wasn't worth spending the rest of his life in jail. Yasmine lay on the iron sheet, coughing violently. More than half of the cruise ship ahead had sunk. The surging seawater swallowed up many people floating on the sea, sweeping them into the deepest parts of the sea. Many people were crying and shouting for help. The breakdown of marriage had become less important in life and death, even turning into a trivial matter. "If we can survive, I'll divorce you when we return," Ryan said to Yasmine coldly. He paddled the seawater with his hands, preparing to rescue those people floating on the sea. But waves came rushing in, which resulted in the iron sheet not moving. Suddenly, a huge wave overturned the iron sheet. Both Ryan and Yasmine fell into the sea. The seawater was hitting his eardrums. He held his breath and struggled to swim upward. He looked at the light on the surface of the water. He let out his breath, his body losing its strength. While he was in the waters, he looked at the light above unwillingly. Would he die like this? He had done nothing in his life. He was unwilling to die, even feeling sorry for his parents. Ryan slowly closed his eyes. ... The waves washed over the beach. Its sound kept ringing in his ears. He spat out some seawater. The scorching sun shone into his eyes, which made him feel extreme pain. "You're so lucky to survive. I thought you would die," a female voice said. He had been lying on the beach. Ryan slowly turned his head. It was a long-haired young woman in wet clothes. He frowned, asking in confusion, "Where is this?" "I can't answer your question. All of us don't know where this is. It looks like a desert island." She frowned while looking around. All of us? Ryan endured the pain all over his body, forcing himself to sit up. He immediately saw a huge piece of iron sheet on the beach. Turning around, he saw several women sitting on the beach not far away, looking at him warily. "Thanks to our good luck. This desert island is near where the ship sank. The waves pushed us to the beach, or we would have died. But it seems that only a few of us survived. There is a high probability that the others died in the sea. "If I had known earlier, I wouldn't have taken the ship to go overseas this time. I originally thought I could enjoy the scenery on the sea by taking a ship. I didn't expect to encounter a shipwreck." She looked depressed. After speaking, she turned around and walked over to those women. Ryan looked at the huge reef in the distance where the cruise ship hit. He frowned and stood up, following that woman as well. As soon as he approached, he saw Yasmine sitting in the crowd. She was glaring at him with a resentful look. He ignored her and sat down, observing the people around him. There were seven people in total. Apart from him, the others were all women. "What should we do now? The ship has sunk. Will the rescue team come to rescue us?" A young-looking girl asked with tears of fear. Upon hearing her question, everyone else showed nervous and worried expressions. "That ship is very famous in Cascadia. Since such a shipwreck happened, the government wouldn't ignore it. "The rescue team might soon start a search and rescue. Although this island is near where the ship sank, the rescue team can only get here in three or five days the fastest. "Apart from worrying about when they'll come, we must think about how to spend these few days until they come. Let's get to know each other first. My name is Sherry Lambert. I'm a travel blogger." Five of them had given their names. Ryan also introduced himself, but neither Yasmine nor the other two women spoke. "This island is big. There might be local indigenous people or fishermen. We can search the island and look for them. "There are also many coconut trees. If there are no indigenous people and we can't get help, we can pick coconuts. We won't have a problem eating or drinking for the time being." Ryan had spoken his thoughts. Sherry and the others nodded in agreement. Right then, Yasmine pointed at him, saying coldly, "I didn't want to stay with him. He tried to kill me when we were in the sea."
