Chapter 142
A chill encompassed Ryan's heart. If the water level continued to rise, they would be submerged by tomorrow morning.
Ryan shouted sadly, "Get up, everyone! The campsite is going to be flooded soon!"
The women poked their heads out and opened their eyes. There was no white water around them. Water whirled and lapped around them, rumbling softly.
Ants, locusts, earthworms, and other nameless bugs were moving in on their campsite.
Eloise cried out of fear.
"Are we going to drown?"
Camelia seldom showed her worry outwardly. However, her eyes showed concern.
"Let's hope that the water will recede before the campsite is flooded entirely!"
Nina was expressionless.
"What if the water doesn't subside? If I knew I'd die anyway, I'd rather be murdered by the Aboriginal people!"
Sherry had no hope to live.
"Ryan, how many bullets do you have left? Is it enough for everyone to be shot in the head? I'd rather be shot dead than drown!"
The campsite was shrouded in desolation.
