Soon enough, Freya joined them as well. There was a melancholy look in her eyes.
"Ryan, do you have a moment to talk?" Freya asked. Although there was a faint smile on her face, she was clearly forcing it.
Ryan had yet to answer when Eloise nudged him. "Go ahead! Freya must have something important to tell you."
Freya's face flushed red at Eloise's remarks.
Ryan stood up and walked to the side while Freya followed him.
After they had walked about 20 yards, Ryan stopped.
"Alright, speak up!" he said. His cold tone sent shivers down Freya's spine.
"We're still too close. Let's go somewhere farther to talk," Freya said. Freya stood in front of Ryan and took the lead. He followed her as they walked for a long while.
The moonlight shone through the clouds, and under its soft glow, Ryan noticed several flat stones surrounded by patches of green grass ahead of them.
