"Camelia!" Ryan blurted out without thinking.
Freya responded with a vague, noncommittal "Oh."
Ryan frowned, sensing that her tone hinted at something more. After a moment of reflection, it hit him. His ears turned red, and a blush spread across his face.
"Freya came by last night," he said, trying to downplay the excitement of his evening with Camelia. "We talked about heading back to the cave."
"You don't have to explain what you were talking about," Freya said softly. "But you're not fully recovered yet. I can't believe Camelia didn't consider that—she usually sees the bigger picture."
Freya knew exactly what had happened the moment she stepped into the shack and smelled the lingering scent.
