A Good Friend
Damien's POV
"The only fingerprints we found are from two people, Damien. The operator of the computer and someone unknown. We're now investigating the identity of that person."
I nodded at Zandra's father and pulled myself up. "Thank you, General. I'll visit again if there's another update."
"Sure." He smiled and shook my head. "But I wanna invite you for dinner tomorrow night at my house. Are you available."
"I'll try, General."
"I'm expecting you, Damien."
I immediately went home after that. My forehead creased after I saw dad in the living area. The house was dark and the only source of light was the lamp shade beside him. He's drinking.
"Dad…"
"You asked for help from Zandra's father? Why did you do that? Don't you trust my own investigation?"
I laughed without humor and sat across from him. I grabbed the bottle of liquor and drank straight from it.
"How 'bout you, dad? Do you trust me?"
He clenched his jaws. He's cunning and of course I am too.
