CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED TEN - THE BATTLEGROUND

Gwen ran swiftly through the forest, carrying Karina in her arms. The sound of snarls and roars grew louder as they approached a clearing. Karina gasped. In the clearing, three massive werewolves were locked in a fierce battle with armed men. She instantly recognized the black fur of Lady Becky and Zaya. And the third werewolf, with reddish-brown fur, had to be John. "John!" Karina cried out in relief. He was alive! John's wolf head whipped around at the sound of her voice. His golden eyes shone with a mixture of joy and fear upon seeing her. Gwen gently set Karina down behind a large fallen tree. "Stay here," she said gruffly. Then Gwen's body convulsed and rippled. Her transformation deepened, fur sprouting over her body. Within moments, she had taken on a half-human, half-wolf form. With a guttural growl, she charged into the fray.
