54 Intentions
The next morning when Aurelia and Circe came down to get breakfast, the dining hall was quite grim. All the guests and staff hung their heads low, talking to each other in hushed silence.
“What is going on?” Aurelia mumbled.
Circe grabbed her hand and pulled her off to a table where the people already there were talking among themselves animatedly. Aurelia tried to eavesdrop, but their voice were too solemn so she couldn’t make out what they were talking about unless she scooted even closer and risked being looked at like she was a creep.
“Oh sorry, you guys don’t mind if we dine with you, do you? Were you saving these seats for your other friends?” Circe cheerfully said when the others finally noticed their presence.
“It's okay, we don’t mind. You can have the seats,” another woman said, offering her a smile.
“Thank you,” Circe answered before raising her hand to call over a server who could get their breakfast for them.
Aurelia patiently watched to the side as Circe
