65 The Accident

Calantha and Paula both lived off-campus. Calantha was staying in a hotel temporarily, while Paula was staying with relatives nearby. They often left together in the evenings. "My stomach is so empty," Paula rubbed her belly. "I didn't finish the beef burger earlier." Calantha offered to treat her. "Let me treat you to supper." Paula didn't refuse. "Okay, let's go now." The two of them chatted as they crossed the street. Suddenly, a speeding car with its high beams on rushed towards them. Calantha reacted quickly. She pulled Paula and rolled them to the side of the road, but the car didn't stop. The driver immediately reversed and aimed straight for them. "Calantha, watch out!" Paula shielded Calantha and was hit hard by the car. After the collision, the driver didn't get out to check on them. Instead, they quickly drove away from the scene. "Oh my God, what just happened?" "It's an accident. I recorded a video. That car intentionally hit these two girls." "Poor thing!"
