CHAPTER 8 THE HATE

It was rather more busy than usual that day. I placed my hands on my waist and sighed deeply as I waited patiently for the traffic light to go red so that I would be able to cross to the other side. I was very tired, as always, after the day's work.
I felt like having vanilla ice cream, at least to help me get refreshed. Finally, all the vehicles stopped, allowing me and about fifty other people to go across the small road. I went to get my ice cream, then turned into the lonely street that led to my apartment. I could feel the chill as I scooped the ice cream bit by bit into my mouth.
It was all I needed to feel relaxed. The street was so quiet and sparse, compared to the busy road I just left behind. It was dark too; only a few of the street lights were on, but I could still see my way clearly.
Suddenly, I felt a hand grab me by my neck from behind, making me choke. My ice cream fell to the ground, and I struggled to let out a scream as my mouth was covered
