SABRINA'S POV Slowly, I began to wake up, feeling warmth all around me. It took me a moment to realize I wasn’t alone in the study anymore. As my senses sharpened, I felt Jared’s arms wrapped around me, his chest rising and falling beneath my cheek with each deep breath he took. I hadn’t realized how much I needed this—how much I needed him. We were so close, our faces just inches apart, and even though it felt a bit awkward, I didn’t pull away. Instead, I pressed myself closer, craving the comfort his presence provided. Blinking my eyes open, I took in the familiar surroundings of the study—the dark wood paneling, the soft glow of the lamp. My mind was still fuzzy from sleep, and the last thing I remembered was Jared giving me that warm milk to ease my cough. Now, as I looked at him, I found myself caught in his gaze. There was something in his eyes—concern, maybe even fear—that I didn’t fully understand. As Jared sensed I was awake, he adjusted his hold on me, making me feel more
