CHAPTER 146: Not A Coincidence But A Warning
THIRD PERSON POV
A hooded figure walked into the alley, stepping into a puddle of water on the cold night. His face was hidden by the black cloak he wore, concealing his identity.
He emerged from the alley and stopped in front of an old-looking restaurant. His eyes darted backward, his ears twitching. He could hear people following him.
Entering the restaurant, he quickly shut the door. The person behind the counter looked at him in horror.
The woman's eyes bulged as she quickly pressed a button under the counter and fled.
The hooded figure followed her. He wasn’t moving fast, giving her a chance to run, but no matter how far she went, he seemed to be just a step behind.
She fell, scraping her knee on the cold city floor. She squeezed her eyes shut from the pain that made her body recoil, but she struggled to get up, continuing to run despite her bruised knee.
