Chapter 5 Intentionally?
Fu Zhengzheng stands at her desk in a suit, sorting out the documents, and her eyes, intentionally or unintentionally, sweeps through the monitor in the corner of the wall and returns to her position.
She has been working at Weihan for two days, but hasn’t collected any useful information, so she is a little worried.
“I will familiarize them with their jobs as soon as possible. By the way, the boss didn’t say anything to you about the incident, did he?” Min Zhongxu’s voice, coming from far to near, interrupts Fu Zhengzheng’s thought. She quickly stands up and greets him with a smile.
“It has nothing to do with us.” Han Siqi ignores Fu Zhengzheng and comes to sit down on his chair.
She slowly fills a cup with water, and listens to their conversation attentively.
She knows “the incident” mentioned by Min Zhongxu, which refers to the recent drug trafficking gang, and employees of Weihan Group were found to be involved in it. So the police suspect that there are bigger secrets behind the company.
“We have no say as to whether it has anything to do with us. The police are watching. Think about the dog-eat-dog case six years ago. We thought that B city has been peaceful since then, but who knows, it happened again,” Min Zhongxu says while drinking water on the sofa.
Six years ago? The dog-eat-dog case?
The scene six years ago flashes through her mind. Although it has been six years, every time she thinks of it, she feels afraid.
She faintly believes that the appearance of these people is not a coincidence. She has tried very hard to get in the company, so she must figure it out. Otherwise, how can she go back and explain to the police station?
Han Siqi says slowly while holding his hand, “I heard it’s because of a small vault.”
“What? A vault?” Min Zhongxu is almost choked by tea. While serving the tea, Fu Zhengzheng’s hands also shake with surprise.
“Brother Daming, the boss of the underworld in B city that year, hid his wealth in a secret place, including the jade Buddha in that dog-eat-dog case.”
Dog eat dog? Li Ming, the head of the traffickers she identified that year, killed people in the dog-eat-dog case! Her heart quivers again.
“A secret vault? Wow, just imagine it, it is a great fortune!” Min Zhongxu gesticulates excitedly.
“It is said that the Brother Daming lost the key to the vault before being executed by the police. It hasn’t been found until now,” Han Siqi says still with a casual tone.
“Did they show up to search for the key?” Min Zhongxu moves to the side of Han Siqi and gesticulates excitedly, “If they find the key, they will get rich overnight!”
“Are you going to look for the key? Forget it.” Han Siqi mocks. He taps on Fu Zhengzheng’s forehead who is serving the tea with his pen.
“Ouch!”
Fu Zhengzheng comes to herself, and hurries to wipe the overflowing water with a rag. Then she seems to think of something and wipe the water violently on purpose. Consequently, the droplets all “fly” to Han Siqi’s clothes. She hurries to wipe his clothes with the rag, but her hand is pulled by Han Siqi, then her whole body falls into his arms.
Immediately, she hears Han Siqi’s magnetic voice, “Did you do it intentionally?”
Fu Zhengzheng’s cheeks turn red and she struggles to get rid of him while explaining, “No, I just wanted to help you wipe off the water stains on your clothes.”
I really didn’t mean to wet your clothes.
“That’s all right. Then wipe it for me.” Han Siqi smiles evilly and turns his head to catch a glimpse of Min Zhongxu looking at him and Fu Zhengzheng with a surprising and inquiring eye. Han Siqi’s face immediately darkens, “What else are you doing here?”
“Uh, I…” Min Zhongxu was so thrilled that he almost hits the door when he quickly gets up and goes out.
“Mr. Han, your clothes are wet. Please go in and change them, or you’ll catch a cold.” Fu Zhengzheng urges him.
Han Siqi stares at her for a while and then says, “The clothes are wet. Will you take full responsibility?”
