Chapter 21
Timothy clutched his head with both hands and shouted.
Alex asked, puzzled, "What's going on, Mr. Stone?"
Timothy snapped back to reality and looked at Alex. "Let me ask you something. If someone saved your life, and you didn't know it yet kept treating them terribly, wouldn't they tell you? I mean, if they did, you'd stop targeting them, right?"
Alex thought for a moment before replying. "It's pretty simple. First, maybe she thought you already knew who saved you. When you didn't bring it up, she might've assumed you didn't care enough to repay her, so telling you wouldn't change anything.
"Second, maybe she didn't think saving you was a big deal. So, to her, there was no point in mentioning it."
Didn't think it was a big deal…
As Timothy considered Alex's words, he couldn't help but recall how Alyssa had quietly given so much to Sebastian and everyone around her. She had never once asked for recognition or gratitude.
Alyssa indeed didn't care for it.
