Chapter 16
This had to be a coincidence! If Alyssa had been the one who saved him, why had she never mentioned it? And if it was her, everything he had done to her over the years would mean he was an ungrateful brute.
Timothy closed Alyssa's medical report, the unsettling thoughts lingering as he returned to his office. He sat there, lost in thought for the entire night.
The next morning, he made a call to Daisy. "Daisy, let's meet up. I have something to discuss."
Daisy sat elegantly dressed in a private restaurant inside a quiet room. The waiter took her coat as she settled in.
Timothy's eyes instinctively drifted to her smooth and flawless arms, and there were no scars there.
Four years ago, after his car accident, he had been trapped inside the wreckage, unconscious and covered in blood.
A girl had risked her life, reaching through the shattered glass to force the door open. Her arm had been deeply cut by the broken window. It was so deep that the doctor said stitches were inevitable.
