CHAPTER 93: CULTURAL CLASHES
The sun descended the horizon, casting a beautiful streak of orange, pink, and peach, obstructed by the cluster of skyscrapers that cluttered the Dubai Skyline. Samantha stood before the floor-to-ceiling windows of the penthouse, which provided a breathtaking view of the city, her mind going wild.
Behind her, her tiny desk in her makeshift home office was filled with rough sheets, drawings, and sketches, with her tablet on top of the pile. At a door to the side, Nate walked through it.
“Mum?”
Samantha turned around at the shrill masculine voice to see her son. The young boy crossed the room to meet her, clasping her hands in hers, then her gaze went to the cluttered table and back to her again, and Samantha broke the growing silence between them.
“How did school go today?”
Nate shrugged his backpack off his shoulders, releasing his mother's arm. "Mum, to be candid. I wish we could return to London as fast as possible."
He walked away, and Samantha followed him. "Why?"
