CHAPTER 42 THE LIFE-CHANGING DISCOVERY

Jake was frantic, and even when Samantha tried to assure her she felt just fine, he wouldn't take her word for it. He called the doctor over, who advised her to have more rest. This didn't help Samantha because all she felt she did was rest. She refused to take the meds the doc prescribed, claiming she felt great... better than she'd ever felt. Jake didn't believe her for as little as a second, but the woman was too damnably stubborn. Once he saw her do as much as standing, he would gently throw her over his shoulder and carry her back to their room. One of the many days she was confined to her room, Jake had gone to work.
