CHAPTER 191: MEDIATOR
Nate looked up and heard the door handle rattle at his office. "Come on in," he muttered and promptly went back to signing the heaps of documents spread before him.
"Sir…" his assistant started, but he cut in gently.
"What do you want, Anderson?"
"Your mother's on the phone," she replied, and he immediately paused and looked up.
"Why didn't she just call my cell phone?"
"She said she tried, but you weren't answering, so she got worried and called me."
"Shit," Nate muttered under his breath as he began fishing for his phone underneath the piles of paper.
"You must have put it on do not disturb," Anderson offered, and his boss nodded.
"Yeah, I must have…thanks." The assistant understood that that was the cue for him to leave and immediately took it.
Barely five seconds after he walked out of the office, Nate's mouth curled up in a smile as he picked up the phone and quickly dialed his mother's number.
"Hello, Mom,"
"Where did you keep your phone?" She asked, her voice heavy. "
