Chapter 53 – Fraternization

Mark walked into the publishing house as he did every morning, smiling and greeting the people he passed as he made his way to his private office. He had forced himself weeks ago to take a different route to get to his office that didn't have him pass Cassidy's desk when they heard about the accident. But today was different. Mark passed by her desk and checked her inbox to ensure nothing was left there by mistake for Cassidy to look at. Nothing was left in her in-bin, and he continued to his office. He stepped into his office, and the light turned on when it sensed motion. Mark slid into his chair and turned his computer on. His screensaver came on, and a picture of Cassidy stretched across his screen that he had copied off her social media. He smiled at the picture as he typed in his password to open his computer. He opened his usual apps before starting his day. His email portal popped up, and he noticed an email marked urgent from HR with the subject title: Fraternization in the W
