Erina No! There was no way this could be true! I took a step away, but Paxton pulled me close again, nose buried in the crevice of my neck. Paxton couldn’t have lied to me! I lifted my hand, and we all stared at it before I slammed it into the side of his face as hard as I could. The slap echoed in the room. I lifted my lips in a feral growl, all the emotions swirling and pounding through me. I thought I could trust him. That I was making a difference in my life. But no, none of it mattered. I would belong to these beasts
