With his left arm around Avery's waist and his right hand patting her gently on her back, Mason remarked, "You're so silly."
Thereafter, Mason and Avery embraced and clung onto one another in the car for a little longer before he let her out of the car to go back home.
The warm glow from the street lights casted a gentle ray of light on the couple. Mason tidied Avery's hair for her and said, "Go on home. I'll pick you up tomorrow."
"Okay," she agreed.
After giving Mason's hand a gentle tug, Avery let go of his hand and turned around to go home.
Mason's eyes glistened brightly as he watched Avery head into her building. It was as if he had found the meaning to life.
Figuring that she would probably be back at her door soon, Mason turned around to get back into the car.
Just then, his phone rang. It was his old roommate from college who was calling.
"Mason, come join us for some drinks."
"I've got plans for tomorrow morning. I'll pass."
