Since Avery was sick, he couldn't let her go in the crowded subway.
Knowing she wouldn't win an argument with Mason anyway, Avery didn't even bother resisting. She nodded and said, "Alright, I'll wait for you at the usual place."
By "the usual place," she meant the spot where they frequently ran into each other before.
"Okay," Mason agreed.
Folding the blanket and handing it back to Mason, Avery said, "I'll go back to the office now."
As she moved to leave, Mason lowered his head and asked, "You're just going like that?"
Avery was momentarily at a loss.
After a brief silence, Avery spread her arms and gave Mason a hug.
In response, Mason hugged her even tighter, then leaned down to kiss her deeply. After the kiss, he finally let her go.
Avery closed Mason's office door and checked her surroundings. Seeing no one around, she quickly hurried to the elevator and headed downstairs.
