Avery's guess made Mason chuckle. At his age, he wouldn't be so easily influenced by a dream.
In truth, he once lost sleep after dreaming about Avery and spent half the night thinking about her.
He never imagined that pondering over her would actually bring them together in some way. He wasn't sure what the future held, but he knew Avery filled the emptiness in his heart.
After laughing, Mason finally released Avery and asked, "Do you take me for a three-year-old?"
Freed from his embrace, Avery looked up at Mason. "No, not three. More like a four-year-old."
Speaking so earnestly while joking around, Avery made Mason laugh again.
"Alright, continue with what you're doing. I'll go change."
"Go ahead. I'll handle things here in the kitchen," Avery replied.
She couldn't understand the loneliness Mason carried deep inside. She was young, and her life was lively and full.
Mason raised a hand and gently brushed Avery's face before returning to his bedroom.
