"It's mine," Tristan said.
Genevieve froze, staring at him, whose expression was as dark and terrifying as a storm cloud.
Why was he suddenly admitting that the child was his?
Jennifer's expression lit up with joy, and she quickly wrapped Genevieve in her arms.
"I knew it! I knew the child in Genevieve's belly was my great-grandchild, the flesh and blood of the Burtman family."
Lillian was no longer calm. "This can't be. If it really was Tristan's, why would he let this woman get rid of it?"
She hurried over to him, urgently saying, "Tristan, don't be embarrassed and admit the child is yours for your reputation. It doesn't matter if it's lost, but it's better than foolishly raising another man's illegitimate child, right?"
Genevieve's tear-filled eyes fixed on Tristan.
Her eyes, already large and bright, were now brimming with tears. They were filled with fear and grievance, somehow making her appear even more pitiable.
