Teddy took a deep breath, the weight of unspoken words pressing heavily on his chest. He couldn't bear to say anything more hurtful to his father. If he continued arguing with Clarke Zodiac, he knew he might lose his temper entirely.
"This is my final warning: stop provoking Emma. You can’t handle the consequences if you keep this up, and I won’t cover for you. Remember that," Teddy said, his voice firm yet tinged with a sorrow that only brothers could understand.
Clarke Zodiac glared back, his fists clenching at his sides. "You always think you know what's best, Teddy boy. But you don't understand."
Teddy shook his head, unable to bear the sight of his father's defiance.
"I understand more than you think, Clarke Zodiac. More than you think." With that, Teddy turned and walked away, the sound of his footsteps echoing in the tense silence between them.
