397: Under Pressure
As the morning progressed into a frenzy of scattered papers and heightened voices, Emma found herself entangled in the chaos of her company’s daily grind. Despite her typically composed demeanor, today was different—Alex's recent actions had cast a long shadow over her mood.
Her brothers, observing her from a distance, exchanged concerned glances but hesitated to approach. The office atmosphere was thick with apprehension, each employee wary of becoming the target of her next outburst.
"Who was responsible for these reports?" Emma snapped, holding up a stack of documents so sloppily compiled they barely stayed together.
"This is unacceptable. If they’re not corrected, don’t even think about bringing them to me for approval. I expect better."
Her gaze then fell on a contract lying ominously on her desk. "And this contract—didn't I specifically ask for it to be double-checked? Why is it back in front of me uncorrected? Does no one listen around here?"
