351: Turmoil at the Doorstep
Emma never anticipated witnessing a fight right at her doorstep, especially not between two men she knew well outside her own family and who cared about her wellbeing.
The scene was disturbing, with each punch viciously aimed at the other's face. The aftermath was evident, with bruises that would surely last weeks, making any public appearance a challenge to explain.
"What were you thinking, fighting like this? And right in front of my house! What if something had happened? How would I explain this to anyone?" Emma's voice was tinged with exasperation and disbelief.
Bauer stood there, his face swollen, looking regretful. "I didn't plan on fighting, but you know how it is with some people; you instantly know you won't get along. It got out of hand. I'm sorry, and it won’t happen again."
Emma wasn't satisfied with the response. "If there's a next time, keep it away from my house. Why must you escalate to fighting? You both have business ties; doesn’t this affect that?"
