Chapter 54 The Troublemaker
Clara's words made Matthew straighten his back instantly. He denied it without hesitation. "I have no reason to be jealous of him."
Clara pretended not to notice the flicker of discomfort in Matthew's eyes and lowered her gaze, fiddling with the blanket.
"Alright, I promise you."
Hearing her agree, Matthew suddenly felt he might have lost out somehow, but he said nothing more.
"Get some rest. I've already paid the hospital fees."
Before Matthew left, he didn't forget to instruct David to bring things over for Clara.
