Chapter 19 Daniel's Leaving
Seeing Cheryl so gentle and obedient, Aiden felt very satisfied.
"Don't worry. I won't let that wretched girl bully you or our daughter," he assured.
Cheryl smiled lightly, leaning against Aiden's shoulder. In a place where he couldn't see, her eyes showed only disgust, but she said gently, "I trust you, just like I trusted you to give me and our daughter a name back then."
Aiden patted Cheryl's shoulder.
Thinking about the project he still needed to handle, he then stepped into the study.
Cheryl smoothed her clothes leisurely and looked toward her daughter, who had been silent the whole time. "Laura, when you meet Clara in Halcyon Bay tomorrow, remember not to start any conflicts with her."
Although Laura looked somewhat unwilling, she nodded after noticing the warning in Cheryl's eyes.
"Mom, now that Clara has an identity as Sovereign, will... will we lose our position in Dad's heart in the future?"
"No," Cheryl said firmly, a mocking smile playing on her lips. "I thought her body would have rotted away these past three years, but turns out she's just like her biological mother, hiding so well."
"But it's just an identity as Sovereign. Haven't there been medical accidents in these years? As long as you do what you should do, everything of the Taylor family will only be ours..."
She had barely made it through those thirteen years to sit in Mrs. Taylor's position, living without worries.
There was no way she would hand this opportunity over to anyone else!
Although Laura didn't know what Cheryl was thinking, she thought of Matthew's face.
Her resentment toward Clara grew stronger.
Good things should be hers!
That bitch Clara wasn't worthy!
At the same time, after noticing Sharon's comments online, Daniel decided to directly remove the hot search.
Many people had already taken screenshots, but it didn't cause much of a stir.
Worried about the Taylor family's plotting, Daniel hesitated for a while before taking out his phone and making a call!
Soon, a woman's lazy and impatient voice came from the phone. "Daniel, you better have a good reason for waking me up. I'm not happy right now!"
Daniel smiled helplessly. "You've always wanted to know where Clara is, right? How about I send you her location, and you come back from abroad?"
After a moment of chaos on the phone, the woman's voice came through gritted teeth. "Send it to me immediately!"
After Daniel sent the address and information about Clara over the past three years and received an emoji reply from the woman, he shivered.
Quietly putting away his phone, he muttered, "Looks like she is going to argue with Clara, I'd better find an excuse to go out and hide for a while."
Thinking about it, he messaged his assistant to prepare his ticket for an early morning flight tomorrow for a trip.
After all, Mia Anderson had been deceived by Clara to go abroad back then, so she hadn't been able to rush back for the accident three years ago.
Later, when Clara married Matthew, it was to cover up for the Taylor family.
As a result, she hadn't dared to contact Mia in these three years.
As the middleman, Daniel felt it was necessary to get away for a while.
He had promised Clara that he wouldn't tell Mia about the news.
The more he thought about it, the more he felt he couldn't waste any more time.
He packed his things and sent a message to the group.
"Hey, guys, I'm feeling stressed, so I'm going away for two days!"
Without waiting for his assistant to wake up, Daniel pulled him out of bed and flew to another city by private plane overnight.
Early the next day, when Clara woke up, she naturally saw the message Daniel had sent her and the voice message in the group.
"What's he up to again?"
As she muttered to herself, she noticed a message from Daniel's assistant.
"Ms. Edwards, the Taylor family is now heading to the airport. Should we send someone to intercept them?"
Airport?
Clara took a sip of warm water and tapped on the screen to reply to the message.
Thinking about today's race, she turned and went into the bathroom.
The Taylor family was probably coming to see her.
They would meet sooner or later, so Clara didn't ask anyone to do anything to the Taylor family on their way to the airport.
When she came out of the bathroom, in addition to the message from Daniel's assistant, there was also a missed call on her phone.
Seeing who it was from, Clara raised an eyebrow and called back.
"Mr. Matthew, is there any special situation with Mr. Andrew?"
Unexpectedly, the first thing the woman asked was this. A feeling of inexplicable resentment surged in Matthew's heart.
"No!"
He looked out the window, and not far away was the riverside villa where Clara lived.
"I just want to remind you that the surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. Your race today shouldn't affect the surgery tomorrow."
Upon hearing that he was here to remind her of this, Clara's tone was indifferent. "Mr. Garcia, there's no need for a reminder. I know what I need to do."
