“Uncle George, you know, Dad has never taken us on an outing before,” Emery said as we approached the front of the house. I breathed uneasily as my mind struggled with different thoughts.

“Really?..” George asked, rubbing Emery's arms, which were wrapped around his neck.
“Yes. Mum only does that when dad travels or during our holidays,” Emerald said during this time.
“So, rate this outing. At the ice cream shop and at my house,” George said, and I chuckled as the twins hummed at the same time.
“A two on ten,” Emery finally said after what seemed like forever, and my eyes widened.
“What?!” George and I exclaimed in unison, and the kids shrugged.
“I was actually going to say one on ten.” Emerald worsened things with his words.
“You both must be joking. We had fun!” I scolded, and Emery made funny faces.
“Really?” she pouted.
“Why is the rate that low?” George questioned.
