Chapter 526 Shameful Daddy

After tending to Matthew’s wound, Freya gently patted his head and gave him a thumbs up. “You’ve really grown up. You’re a man now!” Matthew, feeling proud of the praise from his mother, fought back his tears. Bradley had been watching silently from the side. Their interaction made a smile crept onto his face. He thought to himself that if he and Freya had a child, she would surely be a great mother. After leaving the medical room, the three of them returned to the field. The sports meet was not yet over, but because Matthew was injured, he did not participate in the remaining events. Despite his injury, Matthew had persisted in running to the finish line. The principal praised him for his determination and awarded him with a “Little Man” medal. Matthew was overjoyed with his medal. The three of them settled in the audience to watch the performances. Matthew sat between Bradley and Freya, holding their hands as his face beamed with happiness. “Mommy, Daddy, I’m so happy!” Matthew exclaimed, his eyes shining like the brightest stars in the night sky. “Matthew, you were awesome!” Clara said as she approached and handed him a lollipop. Matthew joyfully accepted it, immediately unwrapping the candy. It was as sweet as honey. Many children came over to greet Matthew, and he would proudly introduce his parents, saying, “This is my dad and my mom!” His face was full of pride. He felt like the happiest child in the world. “Wow, Matthew, your dad is handsome. Your mom is so beautiful too!” “Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Yates. I am Matthew’s good friend,” one child said, circling around Freya and Bradley. At five years old, the children were already aware of beauty and become curious when they saw beautiful things. Freya smiled and cheerfully greeted the children, then she leaned close to Matthew’s ear and whispered, “Do you like your friend, Clara?” Matthew blushed and shyly replied, “No, Clara and I are just friends.” “Is that so? I can tell that you really like her. Your eyes don’t lie.” “Shh, Mommy. Keep your voice down,” Matthew said, blushing even harder. He did like Clara but he was not sure if she liked him back. Freya understood what was going on in his mind and approached Clara with gentle touch to her soft hair. “Is your name Clara?” Clara, licking her lollipop and demurely replied, “Yes, Mrs. Yates. My full name is Clara Mason!” “What a special name!” Freya warmly said; then pointed toward Matthew before continuing, “Do you like Matthew?” A child’s world was quite simple. If they liked someone, they would show it with full honesty. Clara glanced at Matthew. Her cheeks were slightly flushed as she nodded in acknowledgment. Freya smiled, knowing that a talented child like Matthew surely attracted many admirers. She kindly held Clara’s hand and whispered in her ear, “Matthew also likes you.” She then returned to her seat. Matthew hurried over and grabbed Freya’s hand and shaking it. “Mommy, what did you say to Clara?” “It’s a secret!” Freya smiled and looked at Clara, who was also looking their way. She winked at Clara. Matthew scratched his head. While he was curious, he was quickly distracted by other children who came to play with him. Bradley leaned in and curiously asked, “What did Clara say?” Of course, he was aware of Freya’s playful intentions. As Matthew’s mother, she was keen to know just what the little girl thought of him. “Shouldn't you know? You know what your son is like.” “Does she like Matthew?” “Of course! Who wouldn’t like someone as outstanding as Matthew?” Freya said with pride. However, she did not expect Bradley to lean closer and whisper in her ear, “What about me?” “What do you mean?” Freya did not quite understand what he meant and pushed his face away. It was embarrassing to be seen flirting in public. “Do you like me or not?” Bradley’s eyes were full of tenderness as he held her hand. Freya blushed, caught off guard by his remarks. She decided to avoid the question and pointed ahead. “Look at the needle threading competition up ahead. Let's guess who will win.” Bradley helplessly smiled. He quickly pecked her on the cheek and said, “Don’t change the subject. Answer my question.” Freya’s face turned completely red. She pursed her lips and softly hummed. Unexpectedly, Bradley kissed her again and said, “Speak.” “What do you want me to say?” Freya felt anxious. “Tell me, do you like me or not?” Bradley’s gaze was intense, and he was determined to get an answer. Freya looked up at the sky and said, “I like you.” “How much do you like me?” She fell silent. Bradley’s previously composed demeanor now had a seductive edge. He was not going to let it go until he got a clear answer. Freya sighed and said, “I really like you, so much that I can’t live without you. Are you satisfied with this answer?” Bradley was very satisfied. He casually pulled her into his arms. With the windbreaker covering both their heads, he leaned down for a passionate kiss. Just then, a voice rang out from above their heads. “Mommy, Daddy, the competition is over.” Freya quickly pushed the windbreaker away, blushing and pretending to be innocent. “Oh, it’s over. Let’s go home then.” Bradley pursed his lips as he casually draped the windbreaker over his shoulders. Even such a casual move made him look extremely handsome and incredibly attractive. Regardless of their marital status, the women in the audience all had their eyes fixed on him. However, Bradley did not spare them a single glance. His gaze was always fixed on Freya as he held the hands of his two beloved ones as they left the field. The sensations of the kiss lingered in his mouth. If it had not been for Matthew’s interruption, he would not have ended the kiss so soon. As they walked towards the school gate, Matthew whispered in Bradley’s ear, “Daddy, I actually know what you and Mommy were doing just now!” “Oh, what?” “Kissing.” Freya’s face turned even redder at these words. Being caught stealing a kiss by their child was quite embarrassing. “Daddy, how shameful!” Matthew pointed at Bradley. His eyes curved into tiny crescents as he grinned. Matthew was genuinely happy to see his parents getting along so well. Who would not want their parents to be loving toward each other? The family of three walked out of the school gate and headed toward their parked car. Not far away, a big red sports car whizzed past.
