Chapter 49 Reason

"What was he saying to you?" Alexander asked her above the roar of the music. She leaned closer and whispered, "Who?" Alexander didn't name but it was quite evident that he was talking about Daniel. "I think it's none of your business," Scarlett mumbled and shook her head. "First rule, if I ask you something then you should answer rather than argue with me," Alexander said in a warning tone. "Although I am not accountable to you and to avoid any other thing here. I am telling you, he was asking me for a dance." She paused and continued, "But I don't think it has anything to do with you." "Just for a dance?" He chuckled a low, delightful sound. Scarlett didn't contemplate the hidden meaning of the change in his demeanour. She was looking at him. They were dancing for a while, the strobe lights were making the hall spin, and she was more than a little tipsy. But something was moving in her head. She was comparing all of her previous dances with everyone from that one. B
