"We have to go there." Scarlett pulled Maria's hand and started moving, completely confusing her. At that moment, Scarlett realised that there was no movement from Maria's side. She was rigid at her place, standing like a statute. Scarlett looked up at her with a questioning glance. "We can't go there," Maria declared. Scarlett's stomach churned. The voice of Mia was echoing in her mind. "What if something will happen to Bella or Nia or either of them?" The most threatening thoughts were not leaving Scarlett's mind. "But why?" She paused, tears welling in her eyes. "They are in danger, Maria. We should help." She almost choked. "Every time we can't just leave everything and go there," Maria said in a stern tone. "What do you mean by we can't go?" Scarlett wasn't getting what Maria was implying. "We have family, we have work. We have to maintain balance," Maria added further. It was the first time when Maria was cold towards Scarlett. Since the day she met Scarl
