Chapter 7

Daniel glanced at Ishaan, who was trembling violently. His face was pale with fear. At that moment, Ishaan finally understood—the man before him was not someone to be trifled with. "Y-Yes, I understand! I'll make sure Omari hears about Zak's death. As soon as he sets foot in Qranross, I'll notify you immediately," he stammered, nodding repeatedly. Daniel gave a slight nod of approval. Beside him, Laila couldn't hold back her emotions. The once dull-witted Daniel now stood tall and fearless. Tears started to well in her eyes. Daniel then led Laila to an empty private room. Terrified of causing further offense, Ishaan hurriedly ordered his staff to bring food, drinks, and fresh clothes for Laila. After changing into a new dress and wiping away her tears, Laila said gratefully, "Mr. Ashcroft, thank you. Without you, I would be dead by now. The Dooly family is ruthless. "After burning down the headquarters, they began capturing former executives, interrogating them one by one. They're searching for the genetic longevity formula, which was your dad's last major research project." Daniel's eyes gleamed coldly as he nodded. She continued, "Mr. Ashcroft, you must be careful. Omari isn't acting alone. He has joined some mysterious organization and commands a group of powerful experts. In just three years, he has become the most influential figure in Legate. His background is formidable!" "Don't worry. I understand. Rest easy, Ms. Ballard. Once I avenge my father, I'll rebuild the company, and I'll need your help," Daniel said calmly, yet his words carried a weight that stunned Laila. Just then, a commotion erupted outside the room, accompanied by a familiar voice. Daniel frowned. "Charlene? That debauched woman got herself in trouble again? Serves her right!" ... Inside Room B350, a bald man lounged comfortably on a couch. Seven tattooed, muscular men stood behind him. In front of the bald man stood two women. One, frail and trembling, was Scarlet Guthrie, whose father owed the bald man over 200,000 dollars and had been captured. Standing beside Scarlet was another woman clad in a long dress accentuating her graceful figure. Her face was stunning and radiant under the dim lights. She was none other than Charlene. "Mr. Brown, the debt Scarlet's father owes shouldn't be her burden. But I won't argue with you today. I'll pay the money myself. I just hope you'll release my employee," Charlene said firmly. The bald man, Sergio Brown, laughed heartily, clapping his hands while leering at Charlene. "You're so righteous! I never imagined you would arrive here just because your assistant was in trouble. I like a beautiful and loyal woman like you!" Charlene frowned and pulled out a bank card. "There's 250,000 dollars in here. This settles the debt. Scarlet, let's go." But Sergio and his men burst out laughing. He picked up a glass of wine and sneered. "Ms. Geller, are you looking down on me? In my business, respect matters most. You came here yourself, which shows you respect me. Drink this glass of wine, and we'll be friends. In fact, we can keep in touch more often in the future." His gaze lingered lustfully on her while the thugs behind him chuckled lecherously. Scarlet immediately protested, "Mr. Brown, you promised to let us go once we paid the money. We're not drinking!" Sergio slapped her across the face. "Shut up! This isn't your place to speak!" Then, he turned to Charlene with a sinister grin. "Come on, Ms. Geller. Just one drink. Otherwise, don't expect to leave this room." Terrified, Charlene realized she had underestimated the situation. She thought she only needed to pay the money and leave, but Sergio and his men clearly had other plans. Sergio's expression turned cold. "What's the matter? Are you too good to drink with me because you're one of the Twin Beauties of Qranross? Do you think I'm beneath you? Fine. If that's how it is, don't blame me for being rude." The men behind him surrounded her menacingly. Fear gripped Charlene's heart, but she steadied herself. "Fine! I'll drink. But let me warn you—I'm from the Geller family. My grandfather is Oscar Geller. Once I drink, you'd better let us go." "Of course." Sergio smirked. He was well aware of Oscar's reputation as an influential martial artist. However, he also knew Oscar was seriously ill and on the brink of death. Charlene downed the wine in one gulp and grabbed Scarlet, attempting to leave. But Sergio grabbed her arm with a triumphant grin. "What are you doing? Let go of me! I've done everything you asked!" She struggled. He laughed wickedly. "Charlene, you're too naive. I only captured your assistant to lure you here. I didn't expect you to run to her rescue. I've long wanted to experience the Twin Beauties of Qranross firsthand. Tonight, I'll have my wish!" His men laughed along with him as Charlene's struggles grew weaker. Suddenly, she felt dizzy, and her limbs went limp. "You drugged the wine!" she cried, fear and helplessness in her voice. Sergio grinned triumphantly. "Don't worry, pretty. You'll enjoy it soon enough." He reached out to tear her dress, and the thugs' eyes gleamed excitedly at the prospect of witnessing one of Qranross' renowned beauties' downfalls. Meanwhile, in another room, Daniel heard the commotion. Initially, he had no intention of getting involved. But then, he recalled that he had already taken Charlene's virginity. As much as he disliked her, he couldn't stand idly by. Turning to Laila, he said, "Ms. Ballard, head back first. I have something to take care of. I'll contact you once I've rebuilt Ashcroft Group." Laila nodded and left quietly. Daniel stepped out of the room and walked to B350. Then, he kicked the door open without hesitation. Inside, Sergio was pulling at Charlene's dress while she leaned weakly against him, barely conscious. Daniel took in the scene and let out a cold chuckle. "Wow! Looks like you're having quite a party. If you enjoy yourself so much, why scream and make a fuss? Don't you know it's disturbing me?" Charlene froze for a moment when she saw Daniel. Using her last bit of strength, she forcefully broke free from Sergio's grasp. Her steps faltered, and with a loud thud, she collapsed at Daniel's feet, losing consciousness. Daniel glanced at her, then shifted his gaze to Sergio and the others. Enraged, Sergio sneered coldly. "Damn it! Where did this idiot come from? Foster, Cael, kill him!"
