"Ely..." Bethany hesitated, wanting to ask Elysia's opinion.
"No!" To her surprise, Asher was the first to speak up. "I don't want Ely here!"
Bethany blinked, caught off guard. It was the first time he had refused to let Elysia stay with him. Tentatively, she asked, "Ash, why don't you want Ely here?"

"You're being unreasonable. How can you act like this to Ely, your younger sister?" Derek, who had been standing nearby, scolded Asher. "Ely won't distract you. I'll take care of her."
"No need!" Asher snapped at Derek, then looked at Bethany. "Mom, take Ely and go. Don't leave her here."
"Alright, I'll bring Ely with me." Seeing how strongly he opposed it, Bethany dropped the idea.
