"I believe the Lawsons own a bunch of empty houses, but do you actually rent them out for cheap?" Bethany interrupted, feeling helpless.
Trystan was at a loss for words.
"I'm not blaming you, Trystan," Bethany said. She saw how apologetic he looked like he'd done something wrong, even though she was the one who'd benefited.
"No worries, I'll stay here until we leave Sunville," she added.
He clenched his fists without him even realizing it. So Bethany really was planning to leave Sunville.
"Didn't Ash come with you?" Bethany asked.
"He's downstairs with Elijah," Trystan replied. Then, he hesitated and asked, "Should I have him come up? I just don't want him to bother you."
"How could Ash be a bother?" Bethany asked, feeling a little helpless. "Take a seat. I have a feeling today's session is going to go well. I need to talk to you about visiting Harold when we're done. I'll go grab Ash and bring him up."
"Sure," Trystan said, watching Bethany head out the door.
