Chapter 896
Trystan ended the call but couldn't shake his worry about Bethany. He had no clue how much longer Mateo planned to keep her in the dark.
What bothered him even more was the nagging thought of what Mateo's father was up to at the military unit. He had never met Mateo's father, but the man sounded like a serious threat.
Trystan was overwhelmed with worry when he suddenly received Bethany's call. He picked it up right away. "Bethany? Is everything okay with Ash?"
"Yes, Ash's fine. He's already asleep with Ely," Bethany mentioned. She had just tucked them in before calling Trystan from the living room.
He let out a sigh of relief. "Glad to hear that. Thanks for taking care of him."
"Don't say that. I'm Ash's mom. It's what I'm supposed to do." She paused for a beat before adding, "Actually, I'm calling about Ash."
Trystan's stomach twisted. "Go ahead."
"It's about Ash's condition." Bethany sighed softly. "Mateo said it's gotten worse and that it's best to stick with the medication."
