When Trystan woke up, it was already the next morning. As soon as he opened his eyes, he noticed Bianca slumped over the bedside.
He moved carefully, not wanting to wake her. He was eager to get out and find out whether there was any news. However, the second he shifted, Bianca stirred and quickly snapped awake.
"Trys, you're awake? How are you feeling?" Bianca asked, her voice full of concern.
"Feeling much better, Mom. I'm good now. You should head back home. I'll have Elijah take you," he answered. He quickly got out of bed, looking anxious.
She held onto his arm as if holding back a flood of unspoken words.
"Mom, save your breath. I'm not going back until I find Bethany." Trystan's voice was steady and resolute.
